About the role
We are looking for an experienced Outpatient (OP) Coding Trainer to develop, deliver, and evaluate training programs for outpatient medical coders. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on coding experience in Emergency Department (ED), Same Day Surgery (SDS), and Observation (OBS) coding, along with a strong background in training, coaching, and quality improvement. This role is responsible for ensuring coders achieve and maintain high levels of coding accuracy, productivity, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and facilitate instructor-led and virtual training programs for outpatient medical coders.
Deliver comprehensive training on Emergency Department (ED), Same Day Surgery (SDS), and Observation (OBS) coding, including ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II, and coding guidelines.
