About the role

In January 1983, a Sequential Prophet 600 and a Roland Jupiter 6 were connected at a trade show in Anaheim. They were synthesizers made by different companies, but pressing a key on one could produce a note on the other. It was the first public demonstration of MIDI, a way for electronic instruments to communicate. The music was still up to the person at the keyboard. MIDI history
