About the Role

Nobody reads documentation for fun — they read it because something in the product isn't obvious yet, and it's on you to close that gap before they give up. As a Product Writer on our Documentation team, you'll own the customer-facing documentation set: the article each release demands, the live articles already published, and the older content that quietly drifts out of date. Product behavior comes from our Russian-speaking product team; you'll go to the source, find out how the product actually works, and write it up in English so a customer can act on it — not just describe a feature, but make sure nothing is left unclear. You won't be handed a finished playbook — you'll help write it, working closely with the Manager, Product Documentation as you build toward full autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

Turn a feature spec into a published article that goes live the same day the release ships — no lag between release and publication.

Work directly with our Russian-speaking product team to find out how a feature actually behaves, asking the follow-up questions the spec doesn't answer, then write it in English to the Fundraise Up voice and structure.

Start from an AI draft and do the real work: check each claim against the product, find where the draft doesn't hold up, and edit until no open questions remain.

Own the feedback queue on live documentation — read the report, find the real problem, fix the article, close it out.

Refactor and rewrite older content that no longer meets our editorial standard, as release load allows.

Produce and keep current the screenshots, screen recordings, and short walkthroughs each release needs.

Collaborate with English-speaking colleagues across departments to identify gaps in existing documentation.

At Fundraise Up, AI is a default tool, not an experimental one. We expect every team member to actively use AI in their day-to-day work, identify where AI can change the shape of problems in their function, and grow their fluency as the tools evolve.

Skills and Qualifications

Must-have:

3+ years of experience writing technical or product documentation, or tech content.

Proven ability to own documentation end-to-end — you take responsibility for accuracy and clarity, not just for turning in a draft.

Near-native written English (C1/C2): clean, precise prose and a consistent voice across a large set of articles.

Working Russian: enough to source product behavior directly from a Russian-speaking team and press for the detail that's missing, not just translate what you're handed.

Comfortable with technical material: able to read a tech spec, follow basic API behavior, and write about it accurately.
