The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior AWS Engineer : a hands-on, highly skilled engineer who designs, builds, and ships serverless applications and APIs on AWS for enterprise clients. You will own the technical delivery of cloud-native solutions from design through production, write high-quality code, define infrastructure as code, and apply AWS best practices for security, scalability, and cost efficiency. Working alongside architects, product teams, and client stakeholders, you will turn complex business problems into reliable, well-engineered systems. Experience with Amazon Connect and contact center solutions is a plus, but your depth in the AWS serverless landscape is what matters most. This is an opportunity to lead impactful client engagements, mentor fellow engineers, and help shape engineering standards across our Cloud Engineering practice.
Responsibilities
Serverless Application Development
Design and build serverless applications. Develop scalable, event-driven services using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, and DynamoDB that power mission-critical client experiences.
Build and manage APIs. Design, implement, and document secure, well-versioned RESTful and GraphQL APIs (API Gateway, AppSync) with strong attention to performance, authentication, and developer experience.
Write high-quality, maintainable code. Deliver clean, tested code in Python or Node.js/TypeScript, applying strong software engineering practices including unit and integration testing, code reviews, and clear documentation.
Cloud Engineering & Operational Excellence
Automate infrastructure and deployments. Define and manage environments with infrastructure as code (AWS CDK, CloudFormation, SAM, or Terraform) and build CI/CD pipelines that enable fast, safe, and repeatable releases.
Champion security, reliability, and observability. Apply AWS Well-Architected principles, IAM least privilege, encryption, and secrets management, and instrument systems with CloudWatch, X-Ray, and structured logging to ensure production-grade quality.
Optimize performance and cost. Tune serverless workloads for latency, concurrency, and cost, troubleshoot production issues, and drive continuous improvement after go-live.
Client Partnership & Technical Leadership
Partner with clients and internal teams. Participate in discovery and design sessions, translate requirements into technical solutions, provide accurate estimates, and communicate progress and risks clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Lead and mentor engineers. Guide junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical direction, and contribute reusable patterns, accelerators, and engineering standards to the practice.
Integrate with enterprise ecosystems. Connect AWS solutions with third-party and enterprise platforms such as CRM, ticketing, and contact center systems, including Amazon Connect where applicable.
