About the role
We're looking for a Shopify Developer with technical SEO experience to help our client, a healthcare company, get found on Google and in AI search.
This role is ideal for someone who has done hands-on technical SEO work, ideally at a marketing or SEO agency, and who is comfortable working in a live store's code without close supervision.
The client has an in-house web designer and an SEO plan from a recent site audit. You'll handle the technical side: building that plan into the Shopify site and keeping it healthy.
These are the types of work you may be assigned:
Technical SEO and AI search
Add and correct schema markup on each page, directly in the Shopify theme
Make sure page titles, meta descriptions, and other metadata are complete and correct
Build the client's SEO and AI search recommendations into the site
Site audits
Run weekly technical SEO audits in SEMrush
Find and fix broken and outdated links, including broken backlinks
Confirm with the client where pages with broken links should point going forward
Shopify maintenance
Keep apps updated and working
Review installed apps and remove or replace any that slow down the site
Edit the Shopify theme and add new pages
Check that site features such as inventory work correctly and connect to the client's marketing tools
Working with the client team
Work with the client's web designer to build their designs into the existing Shopify theme
