About the role
A fast-growing, multi-brand winery and restaurant group is looking for a detail-obsessed Menu Production Designer to keep its menus accurate, on-brand and on time. Menus change constantly: seasonal updates, new items, pricing changes, state-specific requirements and test menus for select locations. You'll be the person who turns those changes around quickly and cleanly.
This is a true production role. Design systems and templates are already in place; your job is to execute within them at volume, with precision. Hours flex with the menu calendar, heavier around seasonal launches and tests, lighter in between.
Location: Remote - must be based in the US and work CST
Hours: 20–35 hrs/week - there will be strong fluctation depending on exact needs
3-month initial contract, strong likelihood of extension to 6–12 months
Rate: $38–50/hr
What You'll Do
Update and version menus across locations: seasonal menus, new items, removed items, pricing changes and monthly features
Build test menus for one or two locations at a time, adjusting layouts as items are added, swapped or removed
Apply state- and market-specific requirements accurately across menu versions
Produce collateral that supports the menu, such as chef recommendations, wine pairing inserts, tasting menus and holiday menus
Work directly with the menu and strategy team to receive changes, ask the right questions and turn around revisions quickly
Prepare print-ready files with correct bleeds, color profiles and preflight standards for a local print partner
Proof every version carefully for pricing, spelling, alignment and consistency before release
Keep files, templates and versions organized so the latest menu is always easy to find
What We're Looking For
1–3 years of experience in production design, menu design or high-volume print production
Strong proficiency in Adobe InDesign, plus working knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop
Solid understanding of print production: bleeds, color profiles, image resolution and file packaging
An exceptional eye for detail; you catch the misaligned price and the missing accent mark
Comfort working within existing templates and brand guidelines rather than reinventing them
Ability to manage many small, fast-turn requests at once without losing track of versions
Clear, responsive communication with non-design stakeholders
Restaurant, hospitality or retail menu experience is a strong plus
Requirements
