About the Opportunity

As Deputy Treasurer you will report to the Treasurer, serving as their senior counterpart and shaping and executing MoonPay's treasury strategy as the business continues to scale. You will play a critical role across regulatory expansion, liquidity and capital management, treasury reporting, and trading-related activities.

This is a high-impact role requiring strong financial judgment and the ability to operate effectively in a complex, fast-moving environment. You will work across Finance and other key functions to ensure MoonPay has the liquidity, capital structure, controls, and treasury capabilities required to support its strategic ambitions and expansion into new markets.

What you will do

Partner closely with the Treasurer to develop and execute MoonPay's treasury strategy, translating company priorities into effective liquidity, capital, risk, and treasury plans.

Lead liquidity and capital management activities, including forecasting requirements, optimizing deployment of capital, and identifying emerging constraints or opportunities.

Support regulatory and geographic expansion by assessing treasury implications, capital and liquidity requirements, banking considerations, and relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., NYDFS trust company and payment stablecoin frameworks, GENIUS Act, FFIEC reporting, state money transmitter/BitLicense regimes).

Oversee treasury analysis, scenario modelling, and reporting, translating liquidity, capital, and risk data into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.

Provide senior oversight of trading-related treasury activities, including counterparty risk assessment across OTC and exchange trading relationships, applying disciplined risk management and financial analysis to decision-making, execution, and performance.

Build scalable treasury infrastructure, controls, processes, and external partnerships that enable MoonPay to operate effectively as the business grows in scale and complexity.

About You

You have 7+ years of experience in treasury, financial services, fintech, payments, digital assets, banking, or another highly regulated and financially complex environment, including at least 2 years of experience working with digital assets or stablecoins .

You have hands-on experience with digital asset treasury operations, including stablecoin reserve management, custody and wallet considerations, and exchange or on-chain counterparty risk.

You bring advanced expertise in liquidity and capital management, treasury risk management, forecasting, and scenario analysis, with experience navigating complex and high-impact decisions.

You have strong knowledge of financial regulation, particularly across banking, payments, money transmission, or digital asset and stablecoin frameworks, and experience evaluating the treasury implications of regulatory or market expansion.

You have demonstrated the ability to influence senior and cross-functional stakeholders while operating with significant autonomy and ambiguity, balancing competing priorities, challenging assumptions, and building scalable approaches. Salary: $180,000 - $300,000 (based on state, and experience level)
