Customer Support

This employer didn't state pay. Jobs like this usually pay around $90k–$145k a year, a typical range taken from 290 mid-level customer support roles on Nomaders that do state pay. It's a guide, not an offer.

Remote flexibility

Undisclosed

The listing is advertised as remote but does not state which countries or regions candidates may work from.

Why this role is Undisclosed

We only label a role Work from anywhere, Region restricted or Work from home when the employer's own wording says so. We checked this advert under our current rules and found no country or region eligibility requirement in it. We don't guess, so it stays Undisclosed until the employer publishes enough location information. Here is exactly what the advert left out.

  • Countries you can work from: Not stated. The advert only gives "Remote", which names no country you must live in.
  • Whether the work is remote: Confirmed by the employer: "the ability to perform autonomously in a remote, time-zone distributed environment."
  • Working hours: Not stated. No timezone overlap or set hours are mentioned, so assume nothing either way.

Worth a look all the same. Missing wording is usually a rushed job posting rather than a closed door, so ask where you can be based in your first message, before you write a tailored application.

What the employer says

  • Source listing states candidate location: "Remote"

What Nomaders makes of it

  • No residency or region requirement found in the job description
  • Check with the employer before assuming you can work from abroad

The quotes above are the employer's own words; the reading is ours. Always check the original listing and employment terms before working from another country.

About the role

Summary

The Wikimedia Foundation seeks a Fundraising Support Specialist to join our Online Fundraising team, reporting to the Senior Manager of Fundraising Products. In this role, you will perform vital production tasks to enable our team of Revenue Specialists to launch and optimize fundraising campaigns in more than 20 languages and 30 countries each year.

In a typical day, you will:

Work in web files to modify HTML and CSS content as part of the production process for our international campaigns, in coordination with Revenue Specialists. This involves finding and updating translation elements, implementing copy tests, and interfacing with linguists and creative strategists to verify test content before it goes live.

Work in our CentralNotice banner delivery platform to implement new campaigns and banner tests. Guided by test priorities from the Revenue Specialists, you will ensure test content is ready and organized for clarity of reporting.

Manage QA processes for our banner program, which includes cross-browser review and the implementation of a “QA checklist” maintained by our design team. If bugs are found, you will work with developers and designers to triage and verify their solutions.

Receive instructions on new tasks from Revenue Specialists and the Senior Manager of Fundraising Products. You will maintain your own Asana board of priorities and contribute to other Asana workflows to ensure campaign delivery.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

Familiarity with HTML and CSS; JS is a ‘nice to have’ but optional. This position is not a developer role, but comfort navigating code, implementing test overrides, and verifying your changes is required.

Excellent attention to detail, and the ability to own and maintain quality assurance processes.

Solid written and verbal communication skills and the ability to perform autonomously in a remote, time-zone distributed environment.

A desire to learn on the job and adapt to Wikimedia’s unique movement and model.

Experience with multilingual marketing or programs, and comfort working within distributed, international environments.

December is a critical fundraising month and team members are generally needed to work in this month.

Occasional travel, approximately 2 times a year, including internationally.
