The Position:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Patient Financial Navigation Specialist to join our team and help drive Veracyte’s mission to serve patients globally. In this role, you will lead efforts to optimize the patient financial experience, working directly with patients and billing leadership ensure clarity, support, and transparency throughout the financial aspects of their healthcare journey.
You will assess complex financial needs, interpret insurance benefits, and guide patients through payment plans and financial aid applications. As a senior team member, you will also serve as a key liaison between patients, providers, insurance companies, and internal stakeholders—resolving billing inquiries, identifying systemic issues, and recommending process improvements to reduce financial stress, improve operational efficiency and elevate the patient experience.
Location: We are looking for someone based on the East Coast. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 11:30am-8pm ET .
Responsibilities include:
Provide expert-level guidance to patients on financial matters, including insurance coverage, billing, and financial assistance.
Collaborate with internal teams (billing, commercial, customer service) to streamline communication and resolve escalated issues.
Mentor junior navigators and contribute to training programs and best practices.
Analyze trends in patient financial concerns and contribute to strategic planning and policy development.
Navigating payor portals, website or phone systems to check Eligibility, Prior Auth, Claim or Appeal statuses to obtain information needed to resolve patient inquiries with ease
Assist leadership with creating a culture of best-in-class patient experience that facilitates financial transparency and trust
Resolve billing concerns proactively and communicate clearly to build trust and confidence.
Who You Are:
Education
High school diploma or GED
Associate's or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred
Experience/Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel)
Requirements

- ·4+ years of experience in healthcare billing, insurance coordination, or patient financial services with proven record of delivering excellent patient experience
- ·Extensive experience in patient financial navigation, healthcare billing, or insurance coordination.
- ·Proven ability to manage complex patient cases with empathy, clarity, and professionalism.
- ·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively between patients, providers, and hospital staff.
