The role, in a nutshell:
Chainguard is scaling quickly. More customers, more countries, and more complexity. We're hiring a Senior Manager, Tax and Treasury to build and own the infrastructure behind two critical parts of our finance function.
This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to build, not just maintain. You'll own global tax compliance, treasury operations, banking relationships, and the policies and processes that support them. You'll work closely with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Deal Desk, and other teams as Chainguard expands internationally and continues to scale.
You should be comfortable operating as the subject matter expert while also getting into the details. We need someone who can manage today's requirements, anticipate tomorrow's complexity, and turn technical tax and treasury issues into clear, practical guidance for the business.
What you’ll do:
Own US federal, state, and international tax compliance, partnering with external advisors on filings, provisions, quarterly estimates, and related requirements
Manage indirect tax, including sales/use tax, VAT, and digital services tax, and oversee tax engine configuration in partnership with Billing and Product teams
Prepare and review tax provisions and financial statement tax disclosures, including deferred tax accounting
Serve as the primary point of contact for tax authority audits, notices, and information requests across jurisdictions
Own transfer pricing documentation and intercompany agreements as our legal entity structure and international footprint evolve
Advise the business on tax implications related to new products, pricing models, contracts, and international expansion
Identify and pursue applicable tax credits and incentives, including R&D tax credits
Monitor global tax legislation and regulatory changes and translate them into practical guidance for the business
Own banking relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for our banking partners
Manage global cash positioning, forecasting, and liquidity in partnership with FP&A
Develop and maintain treasury policies and procedures, including investment guidelines and foreign exchange risk management
Maintain banking compliance requirements, access controls, and signatory documentation
Partner with Deal Desk and Legal on contract structuring and other decisions where tax considerations could create risk or opportunity
Build scalable processes, documentation, controls, and infrastructure as the company grows
Serve as the go-to subject matter expert for tax and treasury questions across the organization
What We’re Looking For:
7+ years of progressive experience in tax and/or treasury, ideally with experience across both functions at a SaaS, software, or technology company
Strong working knowledge of US federal, state, and international tax compliance
Requirements
The employer hasn't listed requirements separately, they're described in the role summary above and on the original listing.
