Vultr is seeking a Manager, People Operations to lead the infrastructure, systems, and operational execution of our People function in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
In this role, you will own the operational backbone of the People organization, ensuring payroll, benefits administration, HR systems, compliance, and employee data processes are accurate, scalable, and efficient. You will design and optimize the systems and workflows that enable a high-quality employee experience and support company growth at scale.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, systems-oriented, and operationally strong, with deep experience building and managing People Operations infrastructure in a scaling organization. You are detail-oriented, process-driven, and comfortable working cross-functionally with various departments.
This role is focused on building and running a best-in-class People Operations engine, and not employee relations or HR business partnering.
Team & Reporting Structure
This role reports to the VP, People Operations and directly manages a team of three: a Sr. Payroll & Benefits Specialist, a Payroll & Benefits Specialist, and a Coordinator for onboarding and employee experience. As the People Operations function matures, these areas may be broken out into dedicated centers of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
People Operations Leadership & Execution
Manage the People Operations function, including payroll operations oversight, benefits administration governance, HRIS management, and employee data integrity
Serve as operational owner for employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, changes, and offboarding workflows
Monitor operational performance of People systems and workflows, ensuring scalability, accuracy, and efficiency
Requirements
- ·5–7+ years of experience in People Operations, HR Operations, Payroll Operations, or a related function
- ·Strong experience managing HRIS, payroll systems, and benefits administration processes
- ·Deep understanding of payroll operations, HR compliance, and multi-state employment regulations
- ·Experience working closely with Finance and external vendors
- ·Strong systems thinking with the ability to design scalable processes and workflows

- ·Ensure payroll processes are accurate, compliant, and aligned with internal controls and external regulatory requirements
- ·Oversee benefits administration processes and vendor relationships in partnership with brokers and external providers
- ·Support annual open enrollment planning, system readiness, and benefits program execution
- ·Ensure payroll and benefits systems are properly configured, integrated, and maintained
