About the Finance Team

Thumbtack’s Finance team is the trusted steward of the company’s resources and a genuine partner to the business. We do not just report the numbers; we help decide where the next dollar goes. Corporate FP&A sits at the center of that work, owning the consolidated forecast, the annual plan, and the reporting that leadership and our Board rely on. We are also rebuilding how finance work gets done, using AI to take the manual grind out of reporting so the team can spend its time on judgment instead of assembly. It is a small, high-trust team with unusually direct access to the decisions that shape the company.

About the role

As Corporate FP&A Manager,, you will own the consolidated view of Thumbtack’s P&L — the forecast, the annual plan, and the reporting that goes to our leadership team and Board. This is a high-scope individual contributor role with direct exposure to the CFO and the Finance leadership team. You will also help rebuild how the work gets done: we are actively replacing manual FP&A processes with AI-assisted workflows, and we want someone who is excited to lead that, not just tolerate it. If you want to sit close to the decisions and help build a finance function that is ready for the next stage of the company, this is that seat.

What you’ll do

Own the consolidated monthly and quarterly P&L close process for FP&A, including forecasting, variance analysis, and the narrative that explains what actually happened

Run the annual budgeting cycle end to end, from bottoms-up build through executive review

Build management and Board-level reporting, including Board decks, quarterly outlooks, and analysis that supports investor conversations

Apply AI and workflow automation to core FP&A processes, replacing manual reporting and reconciliation work with something faster and more reliable

Collaborate across Business Finance, Strategic Finance, Accounting, and Business Analytics to keep one consistent view of the numbers

Lead ad hoc analyses and scenario modeling for the CFO and the leadership team on the questions that matter most that quarter

Partner closely with Revenue Forecasting and serve as backup on the revenue and funnel forecast, including the weekly outlook and revenue flash

In order to be successful, you must bring

7+ years of experience in FP&A, investment banking, private equity, or management consulting, with meaningful time spent in a corporate or consolidated finance function

Excellent financial modeling skills in Excel and Google Sheets, with the judgment to know when a model should be simple and when it should not

Demonstrated experience applying AI tools to real finance workflows, and a point of view on where they help and where they do not

A track record of building management and Board-level reporting, including the written narrative that goes with the numbers

Strong written and verbal communication, with experience presenting to senior executives

Hands-on experience with EPM and ERP systems such as Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, Pigment, Aleph, Oracle Planning & Business Systems, NetSuite, SAP

Comfort querying data directly - SQL or equivalent - enough to validate revenue forecasting and funnel inputs without a handoff

Expected salary ranges

For candidates living in Ontario and British Columbia, the expected salary range for the role is currently $121,600.00 - $157,300.00.
