Head of Data | Saily

At Saily, we’re removing the hassle of staying connected while traveling — no roaming fees, no plastic SIM cards, just lightning-fast, secure mobile data in 200+ destinations. Saily has millions of paying customers and hundreds of thousands of travelers browsing through Saily at any given moment.

Saily is growing fast, and so is the amount of data behind the product. We’re looking for a Head of Data to take ownership of the entire data vertical - from how data gets into our ecosystem, to how it’s modeled, to how teams across Saily use it to make decisions.

You’ll own three core areas: Data Analytics, Data Modeling, and Data Pipelines.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll inherit a team of Data Analysts from day one while owning the technical direction and architecture behind Saily’s data.

What you’ll do

Own the Data function at Saily across analytics, modeling, and data pipelines.

Lead the Data Analytics team, setting priorities, direction, and standards for how the team operates.

Own our data architecture end-to-end - from raw data and pipelines to clean analytical models and business insights.

Define how data is modeled and structured across Saily, including schemas, semantic layers, metrics, entities, and relationships.

Make our data easy to understand and use - both for people and AI.

Own and evolve our analytics infrastructure and tooling.

Work closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and other teams to understand their needs and turn them into a clear data strategy.

Act as the main point of contact for data across Saily, bringing consistency to how different teams define, access, and use it.

Set standards around data quality, documentation, governance, and reliability.

Build and shape the Data team as Saily continues to grow.

Skills you’ll bring to the table

10+ years of experience across Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Analytics, or similar data-focused roles, out of which 4+ years in a leadership role.

Strong hands-on background in data modeling and schema design, including dimensional modeling, semantic layers, metrics, entities, and relationships.

Solid understanding of data pipelines and modern data architecture - you don't necessarily need to be the person building every pipeline, but you should be able to own the technical direction.

Excellent SQL skills and experience working with modern analytical data stacks.

Experience owning a data or analytics function, architecture, or major part of one.

Experience leading Data Analysts / Analytics Engineers, setting priorities, and developing the team.

Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence working directly with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and business leadership.

Strong product and business thinking - you understand what the data means, why it matters, and how it should influence decisions.
