About the role
Mission
Neko is redefining what prevention means, from treating illness when it arrives, to sustaining health before it's ever at risk. Our mission: make data-driven, preventative care accessible to more people, before symptoms appear. In a single, non-invasive visit under an hour, proprietary technology and direct clinical care combine to deliver personalised, actionable insights. It's a team that thinks in 10x, not 10%. Every role here plays a part in building a world where prevention is the norm, and where your work genuinely helps people live longer, healthier lives.
Role Purpose
As we scale in the US, we're looking for an Employment and Commercial Counsel to help build out our legal function, with labor and employment law as a major focus alongside broader commercial and corporate work.
You'll join Neko's legal team and report to the General Counsel in Sweden. The role is varied and critical to navigating the legal complexity of Neko's expansion across North America, spanning employment, commercial and corporate law. Labor and employment work will take up a growing share of the role.
What you'll do in the first 6-12 Months
Labor & Employment : Own labor and employment matters across the US business, including employee relations, workplace investigations, wage and hour compliance, terminations, and leave issues. This is a major and growing part of the role as our US headcount scales rapidly.
Legal Advisory : Support and advise US operations, engineering, clinical, and regulatory teams on commercial law, data protection, marketing, IP, and compliance.
Contract Management : Review and negotiate commercial contracts, including software and technology agreements, supplier agreements, and collaborations.
Risk Management : Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risk across our operations, technology, and healthcare services as we expand.
Compliance : Monitor and advise on privacy and healthcare regulations in the US and other key markets, working with the Global Privacy Lead on data protection agreements, terms of service, and privacy notices.
Corporate Governance : Support the development and implementation of risk and compliance policies and procedures.
