About the Role
We are looking for a Field Deployment Manager – Technical Solutions to lead the successful deployment of connected building technology across commercial properties while providing hands-on technical support for complex deployment and customer issues.
This is primarily a project ownership and deployment management role , with a strong technical component. You will manage deployments from pre-installation planning through final go-live, coordinating third-party installers, contractors, client IT teams, facilities teams, and other stakeholders.
Approximately 20% of the role may involve technical support and ticketing , focused primarily on issues that require genuine troubleshooting depth rather than routine support. Basic knowledge-base lookups, simple backend provisioning, and other straightforward requests will be handled internally.
You will not be responsible for performing physical installation work yourself. However, you should have enough hands-on technical knowledge to understand how connected building systems are deployed, diagnose issues, and confidently direct contractors or customer teams through on-site troubleshooting.
The ideal candidate combines technical depth with strong project ownership, business acumen, and customer-facing communication skills . You should be comfortable working with enterprise customers and taking ownership of problems from initial investigation through resolution.
Responsibilities
Deployment & Project Ownership
Own end-to-end deployment projects from pre-installation planning through final go-live.
Review building plans, floor plans, and construction drawings to determine appropriate device and gateway placement.
Coordinate third-party installers, low-voltage contractors, general contractors, client IT teams, facility teams, and other stakeholders.
Confirm site prerequisites are completed before installation begins.
Track device quantities, installation progress, logistics, dependencies, risks, and project milestones.
Identify potential deployment risks early and proactively develop solutions.
Provide technical direction to contractors and resolve deployment blockers.
Ensure projects remain organized, documented, and on track through completion.
Take ownership of issues beyond the minimum requirements when needed to ensure successful deployment.
Maintain clear project documentation, status updates, deployment records, and stakeholder communications.
Requirements
- ·3+ years of experience managing or deploying physical technology in commercial buildings , such as IoT, low-voltage, security, AV, telecom, BMS, HVAC controls, building automation, or similar technologies.
- ·Demonstrated experience owning projects from planning through completion , not only performing field installation tasks.
- ·Strong ability to read and interpret floor plans, building plans, and construction drawings.
